Pausing, Changing & Cancelling Services
No hoops, no retention script, no phone tag. Everything you need to know is on this page, and the form at the bottom is the whole process. We only ask for enough notice to close things down properly.
How the notice window works
Your services run on things we pay for in advance — hosting, licenses, phone numbers, platform seats, scheduled work. Those renew on a cycle that cannot be reversed once it commits. 20 days is the window that lets us close everything out before the next renewal charges.
The change lands on your next cycle. That billing date is the last day you are charged for the services in your request. Service stays fully active until then — you keep everything you paid for.
The upcoming renewal has already committed, so it bills as normal and the change takes effect one cycle later. Submit anyway — your notice is dated the moment the form is submitted, and waiting only pushes it further out.
- ✓ This form, and only this form. It timestamps your request, records exactly which services and which billing cycle, and emails a copy to both of us the moment you submit.
- ✗ An email, a phone call, a text, or a comment during a meeting. Tell us however you like — we would rather hear it early — but none of those start your notice period. Only the form does.
This is not a hoop to jump through. Every request lands in one place with a date attached, so there is no version where you remember telling us and we have no record of it. If anything about the form is unclear or does not fit your situation, call first — then submit it.
What can and cannot be paused
Anything we run ourselves, we can usually pause. Anything a third party bills you for directly follows their rules, not ours — we will file the request, but they decide.
| Service | Can it pause? | Restart cost | What actually happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web Hosting | No — cancel only | — | Hosting is what keeps the site online. There is nothing to pause — stopping it takes the website down. Hosting continues to bill through any pause of other services. |
| Online Ordering | Yes | $150 reactivation | Paused accounts are held with the menu, hours, POS mapping and payment connection intact. Turning it back on is a manual rebuild of those connections, which is what the reactivation fee covers. |
| GloriaFood (third-party platform) | No — cancel only | New account + full rebuild | GloriaFood offers no pause option — the only action available to us is cancellation, and cancellation is permanent. Coming back means a brand-new account built from scratch. |
| Website Maintenance & Updates | Yes | Free | Content edits, plugin/core updates, uptime checks and backups stop. The site stays online but stops being maintained, patched and backed up. |
| Local SEO & Content | Yes | Free | Rankings decay while paused and take time to recover. Anything already published stays published and stays yours. |
| Marketing Management | Yes | Free | Strategy, campaign planning, social posting, promotions and monthly reporting stop. Anything already published stays published, and the accounts and content remain in your name. Scheduled campaigns still queued at the effective date are cancelled, not held. |
| Digital Signage | Yes | Free | Screens fall back to a static image. Hardware you purchased remains yours. |
| AI Automation / Chatbot | Yes | Free | The widget is removed from the site. Trained content and chat history are retained during the pause. |
| SMS / Text Messaging | Yes | Free | Cancelling releases the phone number. A released number cannot be recovered — if it matters to your marketing, pause rather than cancel. |
| Photography & Menu Printing | Yes | Free | Project-based work. Anything already delivered and paid for is yours to keep. |
| POS System | Third party | Set by the provider | Your POS agreement is with the hardware/software provider, not Boom Media. Early termination fees and hardware returns are governed by that contract. We will help you file the request. |
| Google / Meta Ad Management | Yes | Free | Management fees stop; ad spend is billed directly to your card by Google or Meta. The ad accounts belong to you and stay with you. |
| Google Workspace / Email Seats | Third party | Set by Google | Billed per seat by Google on its own cycle. Deleting a seat deletes that mailbox — export the mail first. |
| Domain Registration | Third party | — | Domains are registered for a fixed term and cannot be cancelled mid-term or refunded. The domain is yours; we will unlock it and send the transfer code on request. |
The two things that surprise people
Read these before you submit. Both are hard costs that cannot be waived after the fact.
Restarting paused Online Ordering costs $150
Pausing holds your account: the menu, pricing, hours, POS mapping and settings all stay on file. What does not survive a pause is the live plumbing — payment processing connection, POS order routing, delivery zones, and every ordering link and QR code pointed at your site.
Turning it back on means rebuilding and testing each of those by hand before you can take a single order. The $150 covers that work. It is charged once, when you restart — never while you are paused.
Closing for under two months? Do the math before you pause — staying live is often cheaper than one reactivation, and you keep taking orders the day you reopen.
GloriaFood cannot be paused. Only cancelled.
This is a limit of their platform, not our policy. GloriaFood provides no dormant or suspended state — the only action available to us is cancellation, and cancellation is permanent. There is no reactivation fee because there is nothing to reactivate.
Cancelling GloriaFood means losing:
- ✗ The account itself — it cannot be reopened
- ✗ Your menu, modifiers, pricing and hours as configured
- ✗ Every ordering link and QR code in the wild — printed menus, table tents, flyers, your Google listing
- ✗ Order history and customer data still held in the platform
If there is any chance you come back, do not cancel GloriaFood. Pause everything else instead, and talk to us first about what your ordering options look like.
The fine print, in plain English
If you pause
- Maximum 90 days. After that it converts to a full cancellation automatically, and returning is treated as a new setup with setup fees. We will warn you before that happens.
- Hosting and domains keep billing. Your site stays online and your domain stays registered — that is the point of a pause rather than a cancellation.
- Your data stays put. Content, menus, settings and history are held intact for the whole pause.
- Restarting is free for every service except Online Ordering ($150). Give us a few days notice to bring things back up.
- Some things degrade while paused. SEO rankings slide, security patches stop, backups stop. That is the real cost of pausing maintenance, not a fee.
If you cancel
- Service runs to the end of your paid cycle. Nothing is shut off early, and partial months are not prorated or refunded.
- Any outstanding balance is still due, including work already delivered and third-party costs already incurred on your behalf.
- You have 90 days from the effective date to request your files, database, menu data, content and analytics exports. After that it is permanently deleted.
- Cancelling hosting takes the site offline. If you want the site to stay up while everything else stops, keep hosting and cancel the rest.
- Third-party accounts are cancelled with the vendor, not with us. We will file the request and hand you the account, but their terms and fees govern.
What stays yours, no matter what
We do not hold accounts, domains or data hostage to keep a client. Ask, and it is handed over.
What happens after you submit
Not sure cancelling is the right call? If it is about cost, there is almost always a smaller package that keeps the important part running. Book 15 minutes before you submit — and if the answer is still no, the form takes two minutes.
Service change request
Two minutes. The form tells you exactly how much notice you are giving and which billing cycle your change lands on, before you submit it.
Questions we get
Why do you need 20 days notice?
Your services sit on top of things we pay for in advance on your behalf — hosting, licenses, phone numbers, third-party platform seats and scheduled work. Those renew on a cycle we cannot stop retroactively. 20 days is the window that lets us close everything out cleanly before the next renewal charges. Under 20 days, the renewal has already committed, so the change lands on the following cycle.
What if I miss the window?
Submit the form anyway. Your notice is dated the moment you submit, you will be billed one more cycle, and the change takes effect on the cycle after that. Nothing is lost by submitting late — but nothing is gained by waiting either.
Can I pause my website hosting?
No. Hosting is what keeps your site reachable on the internet — there is no dormant state. Stopping it takes the site down. If you want the site offline temporarily, keep hosting active and pause maintenance, SEO and other services instead; that is almost always the cheaper move.
Why can't you pause GloriaFood?
GloriaFood does not offer a pause. The only lever the platform gives us is cancellation, and cancellation is permanent — the account, menu and ordering links are gone. This is a limitation of their platform, not our policy, and it is not something we can appeal on your behalf. If you may come back, cancel other services and keep GloriaFood running.
How much is it to restart Online Ordering after a pause?
$150. A paused account keeps your menu, hours and settings on file, but the payment connection, POS routing and live ordering links all have to be rebuilt and retested by hand before you can take a single order. The fee covers that work. No other paused service has a restart fee.
Do I get a refund for the unused part of the month?
No. Billing is monthly and not prorated. Your service stays fully active through the end of the cycle you have already paid for — you keep everything you are entitled to until the effective date.
How long can I keep a service paused?
Up to 90 days. Past that it converts to a full cancellation and coming back is treated as a new setup, with setup fees. If you need longer, tell us in the form and we will talk about it before it lapses.
What happens to my website files and data?
Everything stays available for 90 days after the effective date — files, database, menu data, content and analytics exports, on request. After 90 days it is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Ask for your export before you leave, not after.
Do I lose my domain name?
No. Your domain is yours. We unlock it and send the authorization code so you can transfer it to any registrar. Domains are registered for a fixed term and cannot be cancelled mid-term or refunded, so the registration runs until its renewal date regardless of what else changes.
Can I just email or call instead of using the form?
Call any time — genuinely, if you are weighing options we would rather talk first. But the form is the only thing that starts your notice period. An email or a phone call does not, however clearly it is worded. The reason is simple: notice decides what you are billed, and that should never come down to whose memory of a conversation is better. The form captures the date, the exact services and the billing cycle in one place, and sends you a copy as proof. It takes about two minutes.
Talk to a person
Billing questions, a situation this page does not cover, or you just want to walk through the options — reach out directly. No retention script waiting on the other end.
This policy supplements your service agreement and the Terms of Service. Where a signed agreement states different notice terms, the signed agreement governs. Last updated August 2026.
